After its widely successful participation in the five leading international maritime fairs in 2015, the MFE Center attended the Asian Pacific Maritime (APM) in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore on March 16 to 18, 2016. It also co-organized a conference in Jakarta entitled “Building an OBOR Business and Trade Bridge between China and Indonesia”, which marked the start of the MFE Center’s global promotional effort in 2016.

APM is an important exhibition in shipbuilding, marine equipment and shipping in Asia. It attracted more than 1,500 companies from 18 countries and 15,000 professional visitors to buy, sell, network and learn. In the exhibition, the MFE Center highlighted its role as a third-party service provider, which builds an online-to-offline (O2O) financial service platform that helps customers in the upstream and downstream of shipping industry cut cost, network and grow business when the market is in the doldrums. As a result, the MFE Center become one of the most sought-after booths during the APM 2016, and several dozen companies showed their interest to become a member of the Center.

After the exhibition, the MFE Center went from Singapore to Jarkata to co-organized a promotional conference entitled “Building an OBOR Business and Trade Bridge between China and Indonesia” with Indonesian Cikarang Dry Port (which has similar functions to China’s free trade zones) on March 21st. More than 60 Indonesian business executives attended the conference. All participants agreed that the MFE Center has a bright prospect to serve the OBOR projects in China and Indonesia, and expressed their interest to enhance business ties between China and Indonesia through the MFE Center. Afterwards, the Center held fruitful meetings with Cikarang Dry Port, Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), and Indonesian business and commerce authorities about follow-up exchanges and cooperation.

As a way to help its member companies and organizations to cut cost and increase business opportunities, the MFE Center showcased and presented some of its members in its booth. The Center will carry on this practice to give publicity to its members during Sea Japan, Posidonia, SMME Dubai, and SMM 2016, as well as the ISSDF 2016.

We’d like to invite all companies and organizations in the upstream or downstream of shipping industry to join the MFE Center, take the opportunity to collaborate with the Center, and fully utilize the platform created by the Center to lower cost and identify more business opportunities.
